Officer and Elected Member Support
A broad range of activity to progress towards the goal of authentic community engagement is now underway in both Dudley and Wolverhampton. While Local Strategic Partnerships in both areas have been developing community engagement strategies, databases, training and support for a number of years, these have been enhanced through involvement in the Black Country Take Part Pathfinder. The officers involved have been sharing practice across area boundaries as a result of the Take Part Pathfinder, and are considering oportunities for joint delivery, bringing participants together from both areas.
Dudley Community Partnership has the following in place:
- A Comprehensive Community Engagement Strategy (known as in it together) and toolkit
- A community engagement database based with Dudley MBC, now being shared with Dudley PCT and to be shared more widely
- A training and support programme open to officers and volunteers from all sectors, and elected members
- A Community Engagement Working Group to progress actions and delivery
